Monstera Deliciosa met Lissabon man zwart - 50cm - Ø17
The Monstera deliciosa is a beautiful green houseplant! With its large, green, heart-shaped leaves with cracks, it is a real eye-catcher. Because of these cracks, it is also called 'street plant'. In the tropical regions of South America, Monsteras climb and crawl around. Thanks to aerial roots, the plant attaches itself to trees and can climb up to 20 meters high! To ensure that even the lower leaves still catch light, the plant develops cracks. Therefore, the smallest leaves of this houseplant may not yet have cracks. The name 'Monstera' means 'strange' in Latin. 'Deliciosa' derives from the delicious fruits that the plant bears in nature. These fruits are believed to be very delicious, or 'delicious'! Originally from the jungles of South America, the Monstera thrives in moist and shady environments. Due to the size and strength of the leaves, they are occasionally used as packaging material. Local residents of South America sometimes wrap fish in Monstera leaves. However, we prefer to let it shine on the windowsill! It comes with a Lisbon basket in black. This planter basket, made of eco-friendly jute, exudes robustness and suits various interior styles. With natural shades and a black base, this basket is ideal for various houseplants. Handwoven within the sustainable Terima Kasih project, the production process uses fully biodegradable fibers without fossil fuels.
